Dimitrios studied Information Technology & Telecommunications at the University of Ioannina, Greece. In October 2016, he studied Information, Image Synthesis & Computer Graphics in a joint Master program between the University of West Attica, Greece & University of Limoges, France. In April 2018 he made an internship at the Spinoza Centre of Neuroimaging in Amsterdam, Netherlands. For his Master thesis, he completed a project on accelerated-MRI reconstruction using deep learning.
In March 2019, he started working on the fastMRI challenge where he was appointed by the University of Amsterdam. He was one of the members of the AImsterdam team winning the 4x single-coil track.
In December 2019, Dimitrios started his PhD in Stroke treatment decision support by Artificial Intelligence for analysis of MR images (STAIRS), at the Department of Biomedical Engineering & Physics at Amsterdam UMC. Following his previous work on fast imaging using deep learning, he is currently working on accelerating MR Imaging and detection of stroke in the acute setting.
